By Air
Coming From Abroad
For international travellers, Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport are the most convenient transfer points. From Istanbul, you can take a domestic flight on to Çanakkale Airport, or travel overland by bus or rental car. Çanakkale Airport is just 5 km from the city centre.
Coming From Within Türkiye
There are direct flights from Ankara to Çanakkale. From Çanakkale Airport, the city centre is easily reached by taxi, public transport or private car.
By Bus
Regular bus services connect Çanakkale with many cities across Türkiye, including Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir and Bursa. The bus terminal is close to the city centre, with public transport and taxis available for the short trip into town.
By Road (Private Car)
For those driving, Çanakkale is about 3–4 hours from Istanbul, 4 hours from İzmir, and 3.5 hours from Bursa. Travellers coming from Istanbul can cross the Dardanelles via the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge or by ferry. Regular ferry services also run between Gelibolu–Lapseki and Eceabat–Çanakkale.
